INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Saturday visited key training centers in Akure South to assess the preparedness of election officials for the Ondo State governorship election.
The visit comes exactly one week before the election.
He observed hands-on training sessions for Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring a credible and transparent election. During his visit, Prof. Yakubu stressed the importance of maintaining order at polling stations and upholding the integrity of the electoral process. He reiterated INEC’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election in Ondo State.
The training is part of INEC’s efforts to ensure that election officials are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage polling stations effectively.
