Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged the Ebira community in Ondo to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in the November 16 governorship election. Speaking at an APC rally in Owo, Governor Ododo described Ondo as a second home for Ebiras and encouraged them to replicate their 2020 governorship election success, where the APC secured a significant victory.
Governor Ododo assured the people of Ondo State that the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa would deliver essential dividends of democracy, focusing on:
- Improved Infrastructure: Upgrading physical infrastructure across the state
- Access to Education: Enhancing educational opportunities for all
- Healthcare: Providing quality healthcare services
- Water and Sanitation: Ensuring access to clean water and sanitation
- Agricultural Development: Boosting agricultural growth and development
- Security: Enhancing security of lives and property across communities
Governor Ododo commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for revitalizing the Ajaokuta steel complex, vital to Kogi State, and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the people’s confidence.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized unity and peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups, promising to create more opportunities for non-indigenous communities if elected. The chairman of the APC in Kogi State, Abdullahi Bello, praised the unity and cooperation between Kogi indigenes and Ondo State residents, predicting massive votes for the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa.
The Ohinoyi of Anebira in Owo, His Royal Highness Adayi Isa Ahmed, assured Governor Ododo that the Ebira community would vote for Governor Aiyedatiwa, commending the governor for appointing five Ebira community members to key positions.
