Nigeria Helicopter Crash: Search and Rescue Underway

A helicopter carrying eight people, six passengers and two crew members, has gone missing en route to the NNPC’s FPSO-NUIMS ANTAN. The aircraft, registered as 5NBQG and operated by East Winds Aviation, took off from Port Harcourt NAF Base at approximately 11:22 am local time today.

Number of People Onboard: 8 (6 passengers, 2 crew members)

Search and Rescue Efforts: The Nigerian authorities, including the Ministry of Aviation, have been notified, and a search and rescue operation is currently underway. Unfortunately, three bodies have been recovered so far.

The NNPC has assured that they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. “Our prayers are with the passengers, crew, and their respective families at this very difficult time,” said Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd.
