North Korea has begun deploying troops to fight alongside Russia in Ukraine, according to South Korea’s spy agency, sparking warnings of a “grave security threat” from Seoul. This development comes on the heels of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement that intelligence suggests up to 10,000 North Korean soldiers may join the conflict.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has convened a security meeting, emphasizing the need for the international community to respond with “all available means.”
Reports indicate that 1,500 North Korean troops have already arrived in Russia, with sources suggesting the final tally could reach 12,000.
This move is the latest manifestation of the deepening cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
