Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State following the devastating fuel tanker explosion in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night, claiming over 90 lives and leaving more than 50 people injured.
Minister Abubakar expressed deep sadness and sympathized with the families of the victims. “I am deeply saddened by the tragic fuel tanker explosion that claimed precious lives and left many injured. My heart goes out to the people of Jigawa State during this difficult time.” He prayed for the souls of the departed to rest in peace and for Almighty God to grant their families strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
This tragedy has sparked widespread concern, with Vice President Kashim Shettima announcing plans to review Nigeria’s fuel transportation protocols. A mass burial was conducted for the 140 victims, highlighting the devastating impact of the explosion.
The Defence Minister’s condolences come as the nation mourns the loss of life and prays for the swift recovery of those injured.
