Nigeria Vows to Crush Insecurity in the North

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Muhammed Matawalle has reassured Nigerians that the Federal Government will not relent until peace is restored in the North West region and the country at large. Mr. Matawalle made this promise during his comprehensive security assessment tour of Sokoto State, aimed at addressing the lingering insecurity in the North-West region. He emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to ending insecurity in Northern Nigeria.

Key Highlights of the Tour:

Reopening of Gundumi-Isa Road: Mr. Matawalle assured residents of Gundumi village that the long-closed road would be reopened without delay, with a military camp established along the route to enhance security and facilitate economic activities.

Additional Military Deployment: The Minister promised additional military personnel deployment to reinforce security in Turba village and other affected areas.

Establishment of Military Bases: Plans are underway to establish a military base between Sabon Birni and Tsamaye to enhance regional security.

Community Support: Mr. Matawalle urged residents to remain vigilant, collaborate with security agencies and offer prayers for troops defending the country.
