Renowned human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has vehemently denied allegations of seeking financial gain from clients. In an interview with Sahara TV, Falana emphasized his commitment to justice, stating, “As a policy, we do not collect fees to write letters for pardon… we do not profit from the tragedy of people.”
Mr. Falana cited instances from his 42-year career, including securing the release of six wrongfully detained Nigerians in Kirikiri Correctional Centre. He reassured his family of his integrity amid “infantile and ridiculous” allegations of seeking a pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10 million.
Falana’s denial comes after social media personality Martins Otse shared a voice note from Bobrisky claiming special treatment during his sentence.
Mr. Falana gave Otse a 24-hour ultimatum to retract the statement linking him to Bobrisky.
