Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has launched the Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme (OYESA) to boost youth development.
In his Independence Day address, Ododo revealed that 250 youths from the state’s 21 local government councils will receive cutting-edge training in areas like CNG conversion, welding, and solar system installation.
The program aims to develop human capital, equip youths with essential skills, and support Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. Beneficiaries will receive stipends, accommodation, starter packs, and business registration to aid their entrepreneurial journeys.
OYESA’s objectives include reducing unemployment, addressing youth restiveness, and empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to society. This initiative is part of Ododo’s efforts to deepen inclusivity and participatory governance.
