Nigeria’s Ondo State Strengthens Fight Against Crime

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has teamed up with the Ondo State Ministry of Justice to safeguard critical national assets and tackle offences in the state. This partnership aims to boost collaboration and support from the Attorney General’s office.

Partnership Goals:

  • Protect Critical Assets: Safeguard national infrastructure and assets
  • Prosecute Offences: Address issues with prosecuting state offences in courts
  • Stop Illegal Mining: Combat rampant illegal mining in the state

During a courtesy visit, NSCDC Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye emphasized the need for cooperation, citing challenges in prosecuting state offences. Attorney General Olukayode Ajulo assured the NSCDC legal team of maximum support, promising a fiat to prosecute state matters when necessary.

Mr. Ajulo highlighted the ministry’s prompt attention to gender-based violence cases referred by the NSCDC, stressing the importance of human safety. “Human beings are the most important critical asset of any nation…Whatever assistance you need, we will do it,” he stated.

This partnership is set to enhance Ondo State’s security and justice framework, ensuring effective prosecution of offenders and protection of national assets.
