Nigeria’s EFCC Cracks Down on Internet Fraudsters

In a pre-dawn operation on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja’s River Park Estate, Lugbe area.

The suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, had a stash of luxury items seized, including:

  • A Range Rover
  • Two Lexus cars
  • A Toyota Camry
  • Laptop computers
  • iPhones

These arrests are part of the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to combat internet-related crimes in Nigeria. This isn’t the first time the commission has made significant arrests in Abuja; previous operations have resulted in the capture of numerous suspected fraudsters.

Once investigations are concluded, the suspects will face charges in court.
