Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is set to revolutionize the country’s tax administration system with the introduction of an e-invoicing platform, FIRS e-Invoice.
This digital platform aims to streamline invoice management, aligning with the Tax Administration and Enforcement Act of 2007.
According to FIRS Executive Chairman, Zacchaeus Adedeji, e-invoicing will modernize and enhance the efficiency of Nigeria’s tax system. “Our collective efforts will pave the way for a more prosperous and resilient Nigeria,” Adedeji stated, emphasizing the importance of constructive feedback and collaboration.
The FIRS e-Invoice platform is expected to foster a transparent and robust tax environment, benefiting both businesses and the economy.
This move is part of the agency’s ongoing restructuring efforts, which include creating a one-stop shop for taxpayers based on their turnover thresholds
