Kogi State Governor Pledges Support for GSM Village Rebuilding After Fire Outbreak

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has vowed to support the rebuilding of the GSM village in Lokoja, which was ravaged by a fire outbreak on Thursday. The Governor made this promise during a visit to the scene of the incident to assess the extent of the damage.

Sympathy and Support for Victims

A statement signed by Isa Ismaila, the Special Adviser on Media to the governor says Governor Ododo sympathized with the victims of the fire outbreak, describing the damage as “worrisome.” He assured owners of businesses and other victims that the state government would provide support to help them recover from the setback and restore their means of livelihood.

The Governor acknowledged the significance of the GSM village, which has provided a legitimate source of income for numerous youths and women in the state, positively impacting the local economy.

Governor Ododo promised immediate relief measures and assured that plans for rebuilding and recovering affected property would commence soon. Traders and residents expressed gratitude for the Governor’s visit and solidarity, stating that his presence has rekindled their determination to rebuild and come back stronger as a business community.
