Nigerian Army Rescues 24 Hostages from Terrorists in Borno State

Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 24 citizens held captive by terrorists in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. The rescue followed a fierce gun battle with the terrorists in the Mandara mountains.

According to a statement, the troops also recovered several weapons, including an AK-47 rifle magazine, a dane gun, and ammunition.

In a separate operation in Kaduna State, troops rescued four residents and neutralized one criminal. They also recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and motorcycles.

The Army added that they apprehended a notorious arms courier linked to a wanted terrorist and recovered three AK-47 rifles, a Galil rifle, and over 1,600 rounds of ammunition.

In Plateau State, troops arrested two suspects and recovered stolen cattle.

The Chief of Army Staff commended the troops for their resilience and collaboration with other security agencies and local communities in the fight against terrorism and criminality.
