The Dangote Refinery has unveiled its first batch of petrol, which appears clearer than the current petrol in circulation. According to Aliko Dangote, the refinery’s president, the clearer petrol is more environmentally friendly and could reduce health issues associated with polluted petroleum products.
During a broadcast at the refinery in Lagos, Dangote showcased the petrol, saying, “This is the real deal. You are now going to have a good and genuine product.” He emphasized that the new petrol would protect engines from damage caused by unclear petrol.
The refinery also presented its Euro-5 diesel, which contains less than 10 parts per million of sulfur, making it a cleaner fuel that will help vehicles and generators last longer.
Dangote highlighted the importance of prioritizing the health of people and the environment, stating, “This is the real deal.
The unveiling comes amid disputes between the Dangote Group and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission over crude oil supply and pricing.
