The Nigerian Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called on state governors to support the 8-point agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The agenda is designed to position Nigeria as a respected member of the international community.
Idris made the call during a meeting with the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umar Bago, on Tuesday. He said the President had instructed the new ministers to promote the agenda and to make Nigerians aware of its benefits.
The Minister acknowledged that some Nigerians are experiencing hardship due to recent policies and the economic downturn. However, he said the President is committed to improving the lives of all Nigerians and that the suffering will be temporary.
To help alleviate the hardship, the federal government has distributed food and financial assistance to the states. Idris said he is grateful for the states’ cooperation in distributing these resources.
Bago, who led a delegation of Niger State officials to the meeting, thanked the President for appointing Idris as Minister. He said Idris is a consummate professional who will be an asset to Nigeria.
The Minister assured Nigerians that he will work hard to implement the President’s agenda and to improve the lives of all Nigerians.
