The Chairman of Nigeria’s Social Democratic Party Shehu Gabam has been speaking exclusively to Africa Eye News about his party’s chances in the upcoming off-cycle gubernatorial elections to be held in three Nigerian states.
Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo all hold crucial elections on November 11th 2023.
The Chairman sounded particularly upbeat about the party’s candidate in Kogi state but he also expressed worry that the threat of violence could lead to voter apathy.
Elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States in recent years have been marred by violence.
Mr. Gabam also expressed hope that INEC will do all that it can to correct the lapses observed in the last General Election.
