The Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in Nigeria, Dr. Bashir Gwandu, has visited the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Nigeria, His Excellency Zdeněk Krejčí, to discuss plans to revive the Delta2 project.
The Delta2 project was a bilateral collaboration between the governments of Nigeria and the Czech Republic that was supposed to foster growth and expansion of infrastructure, manufacturing, and innovation in Nigeria. However, the project failed to take off.
During his meeting with the Czech ambassador, Dr. Gwandu said that he was on a fact-finding mission to understand why the project failed. He also expressed the desire of the new administration at NASENI to work with the Czech government to revive the project.
The Czech ambassador welcomed the initiative of Dr. Gwandu and said that his country was ready to work with NASENI to make the Delta2 project a success. He said that the Czech Republic has a number of companies and universities that are interested in working with Nigeria on science and technology projects.
The two sides agreed to continue discussions on the Delta2 project and other areas of cooperation.
