Federal High Court Dismisses Shonibare’s Case Against SDP’s National Working Committee.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has delivered its judgment in the case of Shonibare v SDP. The judgment was given at 10:05 am on Friday, July 7, 2023.

The court struck out the case, upholding the National Working Committee as presently constituted with Alh Shehu Gabam as National Chairman and Dr Olu Agunloye as National Secretary.

Chief Supo Shonibare had declared himself as the National Chairman on February 11, 2019, and later filed a court case in November 2019 in an attempt to legitimize himself and his collaborators.

The court ruled that all of Shonibare’s claims were illegal and illegitimate. Both sides had their lawyers present in court during the judgment.

Chief Shonibare and Engr Wole Adeshina were also present to receive the judgment.

Representing the SDP were the National Secretary, National Legal Adviser Bar Aderemi Abimbola, and the National Organizing Secretary Barr Joseph Abu.

Dr Olu Agunloye, the National Secretary of the SDP, expressed satisfaction with the judgment and stated that the party will continue to move forward.
