Two individuals linked to a syndicate involved in hacking over 1000 bank accounts in Nigeria have been apprehended by the Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos State in the Southwestern part of the country.
The suspects, identified as Yusuf Ademola, aged 40, and Adesina Abiodun, aged 50, were captured at their hideout in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, following a complaint from the United Bank for Africa.
The UBA is one of Nigeria’s biggest banks.
The police spokesperson, SP Hauwa Idris-Adamu, stated that investigations have revealed that the syndicate members are from various parts of the country.
Efforts are currently underway to arrest other individuals involved in the criminal activity.
