Ex-Nigerian President’s Spokesman Denies Claims of Request to Spare Ministers from Investigation.

Garba Shehu, the spokesperson to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has refuted claims that Buhari asked his successor, President Bola Tinubu, not to investigate certain ministers from the previous government. Shehu also clarified that Buhari had travelled to London from Daura to rest, as constant visits from well-wishers had denied him the much-needed rest.

In a statement titled “What Buhari didn’t say to President Tinubu,” Shehu dismissed the circulating news on social media as fake. He emphasized that the claims of Buhari requesting Tinubu to spare former officials from his government in any anti-corruption efforts were baseless and unfounded.

Addressing the online news outlet’s report, Shehu urged the public not to give it any attention or publicity. He stressed that there were only two individuals present during the meeting between Buhari and Tinubu on Monday night, making the claims of such discussions invalid.

The spokesperson’s statement aims to clarify the situation and dispel any misinformation surrounding Buhari’s alleged request.
