Court grants ousted Nigerian Central bank chief access to lawyers, family

A Nigerian Court has ordered the Country’s Secret Service to grant Nigeria’s suspended Governor of the Central Bank, access to his lawyers and family.

Godwin Emefiele made the headlines when he was arrested by men of the Secret Service on Saturday, hours after his suspension by President Bola Tinubu.

The Judge, Justice Hamza Muazu made the order on Friday. He stressed that the access sought is a constitutional right of Mr. Emefiele.

The court order followed an application filed by Mr. Emefiele’s counsel, J.B. Saudi who told the court that the Secret Service had failed to respond to previous letters requesting access to his client.
