University don hails suspension of Nigeria’s Central Bank chief.

A university professor has expressed support for the federal government’s decision to suspend the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, GODWIN EMEFIELE.

ABAYOMI AWUJOLA, Head of the Department of Economics at Bingham University in Nasarawa State, stated that the move was necessary to maintain accountability, public confidence, and financial stability.

Professor AWUJOLA emphasised the importance of addressing economic issues promptly and restoring integrity to the financial system.

He added that the outcome of the investigation would determine the appropriate course of action, with the ultimate aim of rebuilding trust and reinforcing the central bank’s role in driving economic stability, growth, and development in Nigeria.
