The Governor of the Nigeria’s northwest state of Kaduna, Uba Sani has said that he and other northwestern governors will no longer pay bandits.
Kaduna state is two hours away from Nigeria’s capital Abuja and has witnessed some of the worst attacks on rural areas and kidnapping for ransom by bandits.
The governor however said his administration would focus on rural development as a way of improving the livelihood of the rural dwellers in the state.
The governor said these while he made a guest appearance one of Nigeria’s private Tv stations.
He revealed that governors of the region troubled by banditry also resolved to meet President Bola Tinubu to discuss the security challenges of their zone.
