Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu on Wednesday conducted a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to swear in a new Secretary to the Government.
The new man is George Akume.
Mr. Akume is a former governor of the north Central state of Benue as well as a senator.
As the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Mr. Akume will be responsible for coordinating the activities of Federal Ministries and Government agencies, especially on the implementation of government policies and decisions.
Those who attended the event included the immediate past SGF Boss Mustapha, President of Nigeria’s Senate, Ahmed Lawan, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The event was a significant moment for the country, as it marked the official appointment of a new SGF who will play a vital role in the administration’s efforts to promote peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
