Nigeria’s Industrial court on Monday granted an interim order restraining the country’s main labour unions from embarking on a planned strike on Wednesday.
A judge, Justice O. Y. Anuwe issued the order and adjourned further hearing till the19th of June 2023.
The labour unions are protesting the cancellation of petrol subsidy.
But government says it can no longer afford it because it has become too expensive.
Nigeria is one of the world’s biggest producers of crude oil.
