Nigeria’s north central state of Kwara has told workers they can now work for three days a week.
This comes a week after the new government of President Bola Tinubu announced an end of petrol subsidies.
The government says this became necessary because of transport prices which have more than doubled across the country.
This announcement was made through a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary.
The State Head of Service, Susan Oluwole has directed all Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to immediately work out a format indicating the alternating workdays for each worker under them.
