Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes later equalised with a penalty after Grealish handled the ball in the area.
Gundogan scored with a second half volley from the edge of the box to restore Man City’s lead.
City are now on course for a treble as they set their sights on the Champions Leage final against Inter Milan next week.
