PETROL HIKE: Nigeria’s main labour union gives Government six-day ultimatum.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of Nigeria’s main labour union or the NLC has given the government a six-day ultimatum to reduce the pump price of petrol from over 500 to 195 naira per litre.

It says failure to comply will result in an indefinite strike.

At an emergency meeting in the capital Abuja, the Executive Council reiterated their commitment to ending the exploitation of the ”poor masses”.

The Union President, Joe Ajaero, instructed all affiliates to mobilize at the state and local council levels for a total strike and nationwide protests.
