Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has appointed the incumbent speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff.
Mr. Gbajabiamila is yet to receive his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He will now have to forgo his election into Nigeria’s House of Representatives for the sixth term.
What this means is that other aspirants within the party that had shelved their ambition to represent the Federal Constituency where he comes from would now have the opportunity to do so.
